Materials Science and Engineering in the United States

edited by RUSTUM ROY

This is the first book to present an assessment and evaluation of the development of materials research and materials science and engineering over the past ten years as a major unit on the scientific scene.  It documents the results of the National Colloquy on the Field of Materials held in April, 1969, covering university education and research in materials, the interaction of the university, industry, and government, federal project funding, and future trends and current developments in materials research in the United States, Britain, and France.

The views and analyses of the leading industrial, governmental, and academic contributors to the book will be indispensable for university administrators and industrial scientists managing or working materials research.
